garden journal May 16th

(quick note on homemade deodorant post a few days ago:  It burns like crazy if you shave and then put it on directly afterward.  I think it's worse with a dry shave as the micro tears are worse that way.  Soda is like salt...salt on broken skin stings...  washing off the deodorant stopped the sting right away.  It didn't sting putting it on in the morning post shave the night before.  Thought it was an important detail to add :)

moving on...

This weather is weird.  It hailed today and is currently 48 degrees. :/  tomorrow the sun will shine again (or so says the weather app) and hopefully I can plant tomatoes and sweet peppers :)  We also need to repaint the deck and those 2x4s propping up the trellises.  I'm wondering though if I could prop them up with metal hot dog forks or something less noticeable.  They have steak things in the ground along the trellis bottom too...so they don't need much support.  ...anyway...

lettuce is ready for first  cutting  :)  baby greens are like major $ signs as they are very perishable.  One cutting is like $5 in your pocket essentially if you buy organic spring greens normally.
Noah captures this epic moment ;)
don't cut too close and they leaf out again really fast...
yay green beans! :)  I may have too many planted here...
 yum...
