Again I missed the Friday prompt and after checking it, liked the word enough to just go for it regardless of the day. Pictures next time...seems the posts are a little dry lately ;)
write for five minutes with no editing or looking back on the following prompt:
First thing to pop into my head is "delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." when I was younger, I was always a little confused by this verse because it seemed that our hearts are bent on wanting the wrong things and it was risky to promise granting those desires. Not that I have it all figured out with the advantage a just a few years...but, the beginning of the verse rings much much louder these days. Delight yourself in the Lord. What does it mean? Another verse says that if you Love the Lord, you'll do his commandments. That always seemed like a bar set a million miles high that I could never achieve and therefore never be able to prove that I did indeed love God. But again, the first part of the verse is what stands out now...like a huge rock hitting water with a splash that follows. Wouldn't it be weird to see a boulder hit water and just go right through without a single ripple or disturbance. Yeah, it would be very weird. well, now I see those verses in that light-if you Love God...splash...you just do His bidding because it's what flows out of you and what you want to do. Delight yourself in the Lord...splash...and your desires will be granted...because those desires aren't for yourself anymore...they are for Him and boy can he fulfill them.
